Aldo Tura (1909 - 1963). Italian designer, artist and craftsman who started to manufacture furniture in the Lombardy around 1939. committed to slow, traditional hand craftsmanship, Tura focused almost exclusively on lacquered goatskin. This was applied to an array of glamorous products for the home and larger pieces of furniture in intense palettes of red, green, and yellow. A notable feature of the work, particularly in the ‘50s and ‘60s, is its brass hardware, which ranges in look from vaguely medieval to baroque.
