Lounge chair designed by Paulo Sergio Niemeyer. Rio de Janeiro, Niemeyer Arquitetos Associados, c. 2011.

The only produced example of this super organic reclining chair. Made of a carbon fibre construction for strength and lightness painted yellow and coupled with a yellow leather-covered seat area and movable headrest. A numbered series of 40 copies had been planned but was never realized. This is no. 1/40 with an embossed signature of Niemeyer.

Paulo Sergio Niemeyer (Paris, 1970 -   ) is a Brazilian urbanist and furniture designer.
Great-grandson of Oscar Niemeyer, eldest son of architect Ana Elisa Niemeyer and architect Walter Makhohl, Paulo Sergio studied at Brás Cubas University where the idea of the Faculty of Architecture came to life.

He graduated in 1999 and opened his office 'Niemeyer Arquitetos Associados' based in the capital of Rio de Janeiro and also worked at the Memorial da América Latina with Oscar Niemeyer and developed works with Walter Makhohl at Makhohl Arquitetura.

Currently, he works at the Oscar Niemeyer offices, is a partner at Makhohl Arquitetura and also runs his Niemeyer Arquitetos Associados office, designing and developing a wide range of architectural, urban and product design projects for corporate, public and residential purposes.
