Fine Leather SORIANA Chaiselongue von Tobia & Afra Scarpa
Leather Chaiselongue designed by Tobia and Afra Scarpa. Italy, Cassina, 1969.
Original Soriana Chaiselongue, created by the design duo in 1969 and re-editioned in 2021 by Cassina. Using a chrome plated frame and taking advantage of new polyurethane foam forming techniques, the chair needs no internal support. The shape is formed by the grip of the metal structure that it embraces. Upholstered in subtle sand coloured leather. SUPER COMFORTABLE!
In 1970 the SORIANA was awarded the Compasso d'Oro as a masterpiece of complexity achieved through simple tools. The internal padding based on 'BioFoam' microspheres, a bioplastic of plant origin.
