Marco Zanuso (1916–2001) was a pioneering Italian architect and designer, celebrated for shaping postwar Italian modernism. Educated at Milan Polytechnic, Zanuso opened his own studio in 1945 and became a leading voice in design as editor of Domus and Casabella magazines. He championed new materials and industrial production, collaborating with Arflex to create iconic pieces such as the Lady armchair and Triennale sofa. Zanuso also co-founded the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI) and partnered with Richard Sapper on innovative furniture, lighting, and appliances. His work, recognised with multiple Compasso d’Oro awards, remains influential in design history.
