Chromed frame with white painted circular aluminum slats. The chromed centrepiece holds the E27 light fitting which can be height adjusted.The original label is attached to the top of the lamp. The lamp comes with a white textile cable and the correct ceiling cap.
The PH Louvre pendant lamp provides glare-free light. The geometrical, spherical design is based on the principle of illuminating all surfaces at the same angle. This ensures uniform light around the fixture, illuminating both walls and ceiling. The design of the Louvre lamp came out in 1957, this lamp dates to the late 1960s/ early 1970s.
Poul Henningsen (1894–1967), known as PH, was a Danish architect, designer, writer, and critic, and a central figure in Denmark’s cultural life between the world wars. While most celebrated for his pioneering glare-free lighting, including the iconic PH series produced by Louis Poulsen, Henningsen also designed innovative, functional furniture inspired by Bauhaus principles and nature. His approach prioritized utility and simplicity, resulting in light, practical pieces such as the Snake Chair. Henningsen’s influence extended beyond design into journalism and social critique, shaping both Danish modernism and the broader discourse on functional, human-centered design
