Large signed table lamp, designed by Romeo Rega. Italy, ROMEO REGA. c 1975.

Table lamp with black glass and brass detail, placed on a brushed metal base, engraved with the Romeo Rega name and logo. The original square lampshade has been re-covered with a light cream coloured silk material and retains the original brass frame.  

Romeo Rega was an Italian furniture and lighting designer celebrated for glamorous, geometric pieces that defined 1970s Italian chic. Born in 1904, he became associated with a refined blend of modernist lines and luxurious materials, especially brass, chrome and glass. His eponymous brand, reportedly launched at the end of 1969, produced coffee tables, lamps, chairs and cabinets often marked with a distinctive double “R” logo and remained active until the early 1980s.
